My name is Ben Triplett, and I am the Director of Custodial Services (CS). Our team provides cleaning services for nearly 15 million gross square feet in 184 buildings throughout the Main Campus, J.J. Pickle Research Campus (PRC), and several off-campus buildings. We work closely with other university departments, such as University Events, Environmental Health & Safety and the Office of Sustainability to keep UT clean, safe and sustainable.

Ben brings 23 years of experience in custodial and commercial cleaning. Prior to joining Facilities Services, he held the position of the director of custodial services at Washington State University for nearly five years. Before that he was the assistant director of housing at the University of North Carolina for more than four years, and the assistant director for main campus at East Carolina University for over six years. He has also served as a maintenance manager for Wal-Mart for more than three years and as owner and president of Omega Maintenance Services for five years. Ben earned his Bachelor of Arts in history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Ben is a graduate of the APPA Leadership Academy. He also was the recipient of the 2020 Washington State University President's Award for Health & Safety.

Dave Stevens

Assistant Director, Day Operations and Contracts

Dave Stevens comes from a military background with 30 years of service, having enlisted in the U.S. Army after graduating from high school. He became a commissioned officer in 1998, and served as a helicopter pilot and combat engineer. He served in Germany, South Korea, Iraq and Afghanistan. Dave has 18 years of experience managing both facilities services and construction contracts for the U.S. government. He joined Facilities Services in December 2016 as an assistant manager/contract administrator and was promoted to his current position as manager in January 2018. Prior to UT, Dave worked as a military contractor supporting the U.S. Department of State’s Africa Contingency Training and Assistance (ACOTA) program. He led training and advising units from over 10 different African Nations deploying with the United Nations and African Union to conflict areas on the continent. Dave holds a master’s degree in business administration from Southern New Hampshire University.

Emmanuel brings 14 years of experience in an operational leadership role to his new position, with more than 8 of those years with Custodial Services. Ever since he joined UT in 2014, he has consistently demonstrated his determination to serve and succeed in supporting the university’s mission, which has propelled him up through the ranks toward his current level as manager. Along the way, he gained valuable experience in building services, workload coordination, and as assistant manager for night operations. Prior to UT, he developed his skills in leadership, training and data analysis with the United Nations Police Peacekeeping Service. His international experience includes serving at the National University of Rwanda and multiple nationwide research projects in Rwanda where he worked as a web developer and data analyst and gained more than 15 years of computer skills experience. He is also a 2022 graduate of UT’s Leadership Growth Program. Emmanuel is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Applied Science in software development and holds an associate’s degree in computer information systems as well as an associate’s degree in general studies.

Trish is a University of Texas at Austin alum and a member of the Texas Exes. She brings extensive experience in the commercial construction industry as a project manager and business development manager, where she honed her skills in leadership, strategic planning, and team collaboration, contributing to Excellence in Construction award-winning teams and project pursuits. Trish began her UT journey as night operations manager in December 2024, quickly demonstrating her ability to lead complex operations with integrity and efficiency. In July 2025, she was promoted to assistant director of training, where she now leads a team of trainers, a workload coordinator, and a campus auditor. She oversees staff development and training initiatives that reflect Facilities Services’ core values and mission, fostering collaboration, empowering her team, and creating learning environments that encourage continuous improvement.

Tony brings over two decades of experience in large resort operations, with a proven background in leadership, large team support, and administrative operations. Tony holds an associate’s degree in liberal arts with a concentration in Spanish and French studies, and he is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in the same field at The University of Texas at Austin. His multilingual skills and commitment to service excellence contribute to the department’s mission of fostering integrity, teamwork, and operational excellence across campus.
