Campus Departmental Reuse

All UT faculty and staff are invited to visit the Surplus Property warehouse at Building 45,  on Fridays, to view items that can be taken back to campus for departmental use. No appointment is necessary for visits by faculty or staff. Students wishing to visit the warehouse must be accompanied by a faculty or staff member and are only permitted to use items for needs relevant to University departments.

Warehouse Procedures

Upon arrival at the Surplus Property warehouse, you will find several clip boards, tape and permanent markers to the right of the entrance. You will use these items as you walk around the warehouse, tagging the various items you want. Please include the following details on your tag:

• Full Name
• Department
• NEW Location (building, floor, and room)

All items leaving the Surplus Property warehouse MUST be transported to their new location/department in a marked UT vehicle, unless you have obtained a letter from your department head authorizing you to transport state property in a personal vehicle. If your department is unable to obtain access to a UT vehicle and you would like to have Surplus Property complete the transfer for you, please notify us at surplus@austin.utexas.edu within that one-week time frame.

Items tagged pending departmental pick-up/delivery request will only be reserved for ONE WEEK (until the following Thursday afternoon), at which time all tags from the previous week will be removed.

If you wish to have your items delivered, we will work with you at your visit.

Surplus Property provides free delivery for institutional furniture to university classrooms. Please allow up to 2 weeks for delivery. You can request this service online through WORQS or contact the Facilities Services Center at 512-471-2020 for assistance in arranging this service.

Hours

University faculty and staff: Fridays from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. No appointment necessary.

Location and Parking for Pick-up

The J.J. Pickle Research Campus (PRC) is located at the intersection of Braker Lane and Burnet Road.

To pick-up items from Surplus Property go to Building 45: 10301 Creativity Trl, Austin, TX 78758 

Parking for Surplus Property visitors can be found surrounding the warehouses, as marked. Avoid areas where signage restricts parking.
