Dear Colleagues,

Through the annual budget process, Campus Operations submitted and received approval for new rates that will go into effect in FY 2024-2025. As you plan your budgets for the next fiscal year, we want to make you aware of rate changes that may affect you. The new rates are listed here and will become effective Sept. 1, 2024.

We are taking this action to allow our unit to recover the fully burdened cost of delivery for non-core funded work.

The impact of these changes to educational and general space (E&G) units in FY 24-25 will be limited to departments that routinely request services beyond current service levels. E&G units will continue to receive standard core services such as basic custodial, landscape and maintenance work at no direct cost to the unit.

A summary of the changes is as follows:

  • Facilities Services and Planning, Design and Construction In-House Construction, and Utilities and Energy Management labor rates:
    • All rates are increasing to ensure the full cost recovery of providing each service, including all non-labor costs such as uniforms, fuel, vehicle maintenance and computers.
    • All Facilities Services rates are available here.

  • Project Management, Construction Inspection, and Planning rates (including for UEM projects) are not changing at this time.

  • Environmental Health and Safety rates are based on actual FY 24-25 salaries.

  • Previous Fire Prevention Services rates were based on actual FY 23-24 salaries. FY 24-25 rates are based on standard Campus Operation rates for technical personnel and engineers.

Although these changes may have an impact to your cost of doing business, our assessment is that they should not be unaffordable and remain an excellent value. If you have specific concerns, please contact me or the department directors who can help with clarification or evaluation of options.
