ANIMAL

Animal and Pest Control Services

We remove pests and address animal issues to keep people, animals and birds safe.

Report an issue with animals or insects by contacting the Facilities Service Center at 512-471-2020 or facilities@austin.utexas.edu or by submitting a WORQS request. It is important to provide the following information:

  • Type of animal. Example: bird, bat, raccoon, squirrel, cat. Species determines the unit responsible for handling the issue.
  • Location of animal.
  • Is it living or dead?

Cleaning Services

We keep our campus clean and sanitary, recycle our waste and reduce landfill impact. 

Report a cleaning, trash or recycling issue by contacting the Facilities Service Center at 512-471-2020 or facilities@austin.utexas.edu or by submitting a WORQS request. Location / room number information is crucial for us to respond to your issue.

We keep the university’s campus grounds sustainable and looking beautiful. 

Request landscape and exterior services by submitting a WORQS Service Request.

Lock & Key Services

We help keep the university’s spaces and property secure. 

Request a new key by submitting a Key Request and Authorization form. 

Request lock/unlock scheduling services (not related to an event) or other lock/key services by submitting a WORQS Service Request.

Surplus Property & Moving Services

We relocate university property to its new space on campus and repurpose the university’s unused property, reducing landfill. 

Request Surplus Property services by completing the online Surplus Property Pickup Form

Maintenance Operations

We make repairs in the university’s buildings. We also help make the buildings operate more efficiently.

Report an issue with appliances / equipment, power / lighting, elevators / escalators, heating / cooling / ventilation, plumbing, walls, ceilings, floors or doors by contacting the Facilities Service Center at 512-471-2020 or facilities@austin.utexas.edu or by submitting a WORQS request. Request either performance or an estimate for a Construction, Renovation, Installation, or Building (CRIB) project. Campus Construction will contact you to discuss the specifics of your request.

We provide a comprehensive occupational health and safety program to effectively identify workplace hazards, evaluate the risks these hazards present and implement control measures that will eliminate or control any unacceptable risks.

Zero Waste & Waste Management

We provide the efficient reuse and redistribution of campus resources and manage our Zero Waste Program. We also support the campus in the implementation of programs to achieve UT Austin's Zero Waste Goal.

To request solid waste, recycling, or compost pick-ups for a special event and after-hour needs (for example, a football game, baseball game, or South Mall event), complete and submit a request online through WORQS, or submit an Event Planning Request form.

How do I report a facility maintenance emergency?

When it comes to safety, Facilities Services makes protecting lives and property on campus a priority. For situations that require immediate attention, please call the Facilities Service Center at 512-471-2020.

Examples of emergency concerns include:

  • Running water
  • Flooding
  • Standing water/liquid on the floor
  • Raw sewage spills
  • Overflowing toilets
  • Backed-up drains
  • Shattered windows
How do I request a repair or service from Facilities Services?

There are two options to request a repair or service:

  1. Complete a web request form - WORQS.
  2. Contact the Facilities Service Center by calling 512-471-2020, or by emailing us.
What is the difference between a Service Request and a Maintenance Request?

A maintenance request (also known as a trouble ticket) is generally completed for maintenance/repair of building and systems including heating, air conditioning, ventilating, electrical, plumbing, and other building systems, equipment installed as integral parts of the building, maintenance and repair of walks, lawns, trees and shrubs in general fund supported areas.

A service request is generally completed for departmental equipment and special departmental equipment, installation of items such as pictures, wall brackets, fabrication of shelves and equipment, custodial services requested outside of the schedule such as waxing a floor, or special trash collection, minor renovation, conversions of spaces. Typically, an account number must be provided for work to be scheduled.

How do I get the status of a maintenance request?

There are two options:

  1. Check the status by accessing the Requestor Profile page in WORQS.
  2. Contact the Facilities Service Center by calling 512-471-2020, or by emailing us.
Who maintains the temperature in my building or room?

Facilities Operations monitors building and room temperatures. If you have an issue with a too hot or too cold room or building, please report the problem as soon as possible.

There are two options to request maintenance:

  1. Complete a web request form - WORQS.
  2. Contact the Facilities Service Center by calling 512-471-2020, or by emailing us.
Whom do I contact to request installation of a picture or white/bulletin board?

There are several options to request an installation:

  1. Complete a web request form – WORQS (CRIB request – WRR – estimate).
  2. Complete a web request form – WORQS (CRIB request – WRP – proceed with work).
  3. Complete a Service Request Form SR10 (PDF) and fax it to 512-471-8788. (On the J. J. Pickle Research Campus (PRC), you may complete and a PRC Work Request Form (PDF) and fax it to 512-475-8167.)
How do I request that graffiti be removed?

There are two options to request graffiti removal:

  1. Complete a web request form - WORQS.
