I am reaching out to you to inform you that as you prepare your FY2023-2024 budget please make note of the FY2023-2024 Facilities Services rates that will become effective Sept. 1, 2023.
For next fiscal year (FY2023-2024), rates are increasing to address fiscal challenges to Facilities Services’ ability to provide the quality of service offered to campus clients by reflecting the full cost of providing each service, including all non-labor costs such as uniforms, fuel, vehicle maintenance and computers. One of the biggest additional expenses is related to salary expenses. Salaries were increased to raise the minimum salary to $17/hour and to approach market salaries to continue to recruit and retain top talent.
Please note that, as in the past, the impact of these changes to E&G units in FY2023-2024 will be limited to departments that routinely request services beyond current service levels. E&G units will continue to receive core services—basic custodial, landscape and maintenance work—at no direct cost to the unit.
